Cities and Tourist Attractions

The beautiful country of Italy, the cradle of art and architecture, is located in Southern Europe. This country is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, bordering Austria and Switzerland to the north, France to the west, and Slovenia and Croatia to the east. Interestingly, Vatican City and San Marino are two very small countries located within Italian territory, and it takes only a few hours to walk around each of them. Even more interesting is that a part of Italian territory, called Campione d’Italia, is located in Switzerland. The two small islands of Sardinia and Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea are also part of Italy. The historic city of Rome, which was the capital of the ancient Roman Empire for many centuries, is currently the capital of Italy. Italy, with its vast number of historical monuments, is considered one of the most touristic countries in the world. Economically, it is divided into two parts: the north with an advanced economy and the south with an economy more based on the agricultural sector. Italy is an industrial and advanced country with a high GDP, offering significant economic and commercial opportunities.

The approximate area of Italy is 301,000 square kilometers. The official language of this country is Italian, and about 93% of the people are Christian. The currency of this country, like many countries in the European area, is the Euro.

The presence of the Alps is the main reason for the relatively cold climate in the northern part of Italy, while the southern parts of the country, due to their proximity to the sea, have a warm coastal climate.

The important cities of Italy are not limited to the few we mentioned above, because even the smallest cities in this country are rich in beautiful nature and sights. Among them, we can mention the tourist city of Verona, which houses Romeo and Juliet’s house, the city of Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower, the beautiful region of Cinque Terre, Portofino, Capri, Sicily, Sardinia, and so on.
